“He likes other characters,” Maximo’s aunt, Alexia, told me. “But for some reason, when he sees Mickey Mouse, he goes crazy!”

I think it’s safe to say that his parents get the hint.

Maximo’s mom is one of my good friends, Adriana, who I’ve known since we were kindergartners. I had the honor of covering Maximo’s baptism just a few years ago and I can’t believe he’s two!

Adriana and Gonzo (Maximo’s dad) just bought a great house in Toluca Lake and their front yard is gargantuan. How gargantuan, you ask? Gargantuan enough to hold two bounce houses, which the kids absolutely loved! And when they weren’t in the front yard working off their sugar, they were in the back making their own Mickey Mouse t-shirts. And what’s a party without a piñata? How about two piñatas?

It was such a fun-filled day for the birthday boy and probably a tiring day for his parents. Seeing the smile on Maximo, though, I don’t think Adriana and Gonzo mined so much =)
