Andrea & Bo – Engagement Session: Santa Monica

When I asked them how they met, they looked at each other and laughed.

“Do you really wanna know the whole story?” Andrea asked. I really did!

Long story short, she said, they’ve known each other since junior high.

Honestly, that’s all I needed to know. It doesn’t take a psychic to see there’s a whole lot of history between Andrea and Bo. The way they look at each other, the comfort and calm they seem to radiate in each other’s presence – it’s the makings of a deep and loving romance, wrapped in the blanket of friendship. That’s just the best kind of love, isn’t it?

Wedding plans are on the horizon, but with a little boy on the way, Andrea and Bo are holding off for a bit. Regardless, it was as great a time as any to take photos to just reflect their love, wedding date set or not. 2014-06-16_0022014-04-19_0012014-06-16_0042014-06-16_0012014-06-16_0032014-06-16_0072014-06-16_0062014-06-16_0052014-06-16_0082014-04-19_0042014-06-16_0092014-06-16_0102014-04-19_0072014-04-19_0082014-04-19_009 2014-04-19_0102014-04-19_006 2014-04-19_011 2014-04-19_012 2014-04-19_013 2014-06-16_0132014-06-16_0112014-06-16_0122014-04-19_014

Jovi & Eddie: Engagement Session – Downtown L.A.

I would go nuts at the office without her. My best work bud, Jovi, is getting married in a few months and I was beyond honored she asked me to shoot her wedding. She and Eddie started dating around the time that we met, so I feel like I’ve been there to see every step of their relationship.

These two, I swear. You know those kids whose parents are constantly trying to catch their attention? I was the parent, and Eddie and Jovi were the kids.  “Hello! Over here, you guys!…Helloooooo?!” I always find it so much fun shooting people I know, because there’s no rapport to build. It was like the three of us just decided to meet at the Music Center and hang out.

Joves and Edward – ya’ did great! Can’t wait to party in September!

Myra & Kraegell: Engagement Session – Griffith Park Observatory

A love with a foundation of faith – that’s what Myra and Kragell share. With this comes a gentleness about them, but almost as evident, is how much fun they are. Despite expressing a nervousness about having their photos taken, they were  so sweet to and playful with each other that there wasn’t anything for them to worry about.

They chose the Griffith Park Observatory, a place I’d never shot before, and they wanted to get some night-time images done. Color me panicked. I’d never done a night shoot before (at least on purpose), so I asked my buddy/mentor, Jaja, to come along with me for a pre-eshoot visit to the Observatory so I can figure out where all the light sources were. Turns out that at night, there’s light pretty much everywhere up top – you just have to find it.

Myra and Kraegell – you’re such a sweet couple, and so thoughtful too! (I drove to their session straight from the office that night so they bought me dinner – chicken nuggets and fries rock the party!). Can’t wait for your wedding this summer!
