“Deepest communion with God is beyond words, on the other side of silence.” ~ Madeleine L’Engle // Yesterday, after attending mass online (pretty cool, but still a little odd 🙃), I purposely gave myself 45 minutes of silence. I closed my bedroom door, lit a candle, and sat there to read, reflect and meditate. // Despite all the social distancing and quarantining at home, the world can still be a loud place; the bombardment of information alone has been overwhelming. I used to receive silence regularly, just from my weekly commute, but since that is now a luxury I never considered to be so, I have to create that silence some other way, even if it’s for just a few minutes; even if it’s just to hear God’s voice remind me, “I’m right here.” 🙏🏼❤️ #MeaningfulMonday

“Why are you afraid? Have you no faith? Faith begins when we realise we are in need of salvation. We are not self-sufficient; by ourselves we flounder: we need the Lord, like ancient navigators needed the stars. Let us invite Jesus into the boats of our lives. Let us hand over our fears to him so that he can conquer them.” ~ #PopeFrancis

Pope Francis held up the monstrance to the emptiness of St. Peter’s Square, and despite being over 6,000 miles away, I was so moved by not only everything happening in this image, but also by every intention behind it. Not only is the Holy Father encouraging us to strengthen our faith, he’s also carrying the weight of every one finding it hard to do so. His words, however, remind us he is not alone - we are not alone: “Embracing his cross means finding the courage to embrace all the hardships of the present time, abandoning for a moment our eagerness for power and possessions in order to make room for the creativity that only the Spirit is capable of inspiring. It means finding the courage to create spaces where everyone can recognize that they are called, and to allow new forms of hospitality, fraternity and solidarity. By his cross we have been saved in order to embrace hope and let it strengthen and sustain all measures and all possible avenues for helping us protect ourselves and others. Embracing the Lord in order to embrace hope: that is the strength of faith, which frees us from fear and gives us hope.” #PopeFrancis

I had a family session planned with the Lontoks this past weekend, in addition to a trip to see the poppy fields (an item that’s been on my and Tam’s bucket list for years), not to mention another Sunday hike. We all had plans the last week that we didn’t get to, and we all still have plans for the following months that we’re not even sure will come to pass. The uncertainty of late hasn’t so much made me anxious, as it has make me a little sad. But on this feast day of the Solemnity of the Annunciation, I’m reminded of Mary’s YES to the uncertain life that God asked her to live. Though I’m sure her fear was great, her faith was even greater, and in these uncertain times, faith is something we can all say YES to 🙏🏼💞 #WayThankfulWednesday

I know a weekend at home doesn’t sound very exciting, especially when we’ve been stuck here for days. But I’m just thinking of all the times I wished for a free Saturday to catch up on things on the to-do list that required me to be home, so I guess I’ll start checking things off 😉 // Shoutout to all my parent friends out there whose kids are driving them crazy, and to everyone who has been trying to keep their parents from escaping the house 🤦🏻‍♀️ We’ll get through this! 💕 And please don’t forget to stay connected!...ok BYEEEEE!!!
