You labor all year…revolving your schedule around the game calendar, getting angry when the dvr/ti-vo failed to record the tail end of the game, spending ridiculous amounts of your hard-earned money to pay for tickets to sit so high up Staples Center you could almost touch the ceiling. In the end though, when the reward is this exciting, you can’t remember anything but the elation at the glorious, golden trophy waiting for you at the finish line…well, we didn’t get to hold the Larry O’Brien, but the guys we cheer on for 8 months sure did and watching it was enough.
Last season was a truly memorable one and, as fans, you don’t pass up a chance to celebrate your favorite team’s accomplishments, even if it means waking up before the sun rises, standing in line or sitting under the hot sun for hours. If you’re a Lakers fanatic, this championship parade is something you wish you could attend every year.
It was a great season…and it was a great day for a parade.
