Fire It Up: Jacob’s 2nd Birthday

A pizza delivery truck…in the form of a firetruck…with its own oven. I could say it a dozen times and it still wouldn’t suffice what a unique party Jacob’s birthday was. Cloudy though the day was, the afternoon was warmed by all the kids’ excitement. There was a firetruck there for pizza’s sake! And a bubble activity area. Firetruck + bubbles = PARTY TIME!

And to make the day even more special, Jacob helped his mom and dad tell everyone that he was going to have a baby brother! What an awesome moment that was! I’ve never never witnessed a baby reveal before, and despite being hired to record the day’s events, I couldn’t help but be touched and started welling up when Jeannie (Jacob’s mom) started crying. Absolutely wonderful day!

Waiting Patiently: Christine & Jeff

July 18th – that’s the projected birthday of my future goddaughter or godson =) I’ve been calling Ate Tin every other day, checking to see if she’s still knocked up. haha! And everytime she answers the phone it’s been, “Yes, I’m still pregnant.” She must be so sick of people calling to ask her, all of us anticipating the arrival of Baby Llamas-Valles as eagerly as the parents themselves.

Ate and Jeff have chosen to keep the baby’s gender a mystery to not only their family and friends, but to themselves as well. We all have our predictions but if there’s one thing we know for sure, it’s that this baby is going to be loved and taken care of by two of the most genuine, caring and loving people on this Earth.

Anticipation: Rochelle & Matt

I can’t describe it – being an auntie. I know it’s a cliche to say it, but it really does seem just like yesterday when Matt, Rochelle and I were kids playing in my aunt’s backyard; and then a few years ago they were married, and now they await the arrival of a baby daughter. And hey! I get a niece! A new little child to spoil – I will never get of sick it!

Matt and Rochelle keep saying that they’re so not ready to be parents, and despite all the assurance that our first-time parent friends have provided, they’re still worried and excited at the same time. I know they’ll be excellent parents. If their baby is lucky, she’ll have her mother’s superintelligence and kind heart, not to mention her father’s sense of humor and sarcasm. Gosh, I can already hear her little voice =)

As much as Rochelle and Matt hate taking pictures, they didn’t want to miss out on the chance to remember every part of their baby daughter’s life – from the very beginning. It was pouring rain that day, but they have this huge set of windows in their living room that provided just the right amount of light. And in moments I needed it, I cheated and used a flash – I know, drats! It didn’t matter, though. Flash or window light, the brightest things in that house were Rochelle, Matt and soon-to-be big sister pup, Chewie – glowing with anticipation.
