Destined…: Rachele & Mark

Before Rachey and Mark got married in beautiful Maui (photos of that soon to come), I got to spend a whole afternoon taking pictures of them here. It was the first time I had to lead a shoot. Thank goodness for my awesome friend and 2nd shooter, Andrew (of the soon-to-be famous ABDS. His photos are the un-logo’d ones)! I really couldn’t have asked for a better “assistant” and we really couldn’t have asked for a better day. The sun shone high above Santa Monica that June afternoon, but it was warm, not scorching. The breeze that ran through 3rd Street Promenade was a welcome and gentle relief.

Rachey and Mark’s new apartment was still a bit bare back then, with furniture placed in scattered spots. But what made it a home wasn’t really anything they had to carry. Having been together since high school, Rachey and Mark’s history in love permeated throughout. It’s easy to see how long ago this marriage was planned.

Thanks so much, Rachey and Mark, for letting a couple of your amature photographer friends take pictures of you for 4 hours. I know all the kissing must’ve been unbearable =)

Rings On Things…

Tita Cecile and Don got engaged a few months ago and on Easter Sunday, while she was playing host to our mass of relatives, I borrowed her ring to practice some ring shots. While I save up for my macro lens (which will be awhile), my 50 will have to do…fun stuff!

Palm Springs Weekend

We spent the first weekend of December in Palm Springs to celebrate Rochelle’s last days as a bachelorette. A family friend of Ann’s owns a beautiful house there and was kind enough to let us rent it out for a few days.

I know, I know – 6 months later I’m barely blogging about this. I didn’t want to skip out on sharing it, though, because it was such a wonderfully fun weekend! We got to Palm Springs in the middle of Friday afternoon after stopping by Cabazon Outlets. We threw Rochelle a Winnie the Pooh-themed slumber party on Friday night. The next morning we cooked breakfast and ate outside by the pool. We spent another afternoon shopping before having dinner, drinks and games at the house (after watching the Pacquiao vs. De La Hoya fight of course). Then we proceeded with our evening out at a club in Morongo where we had our own seating area and server…for the best deal we’ve ever had with bottle service. Just check out our receipt!

We closed the weekend with mass on Sunday morning and brunch at the casino. Rochelle’s been married now for 6 months. I hope that weekend is something she’ll always remember…
