Marnelli & Sharat: Sangeet and Mehndi – West Los Angeles, CA

My friend, Marnelli and her fiancé, Sharat were getting married in a couple of days’ time, just before the new year. But before their big Saturday affair, a smaller (but just as joyful) celebration took place. When I say “joyful,” what I really mean to say is, JOYFUL! What a wonderful event to witness – a sangeet and mehndi!

Marnelli and Sharat, along with their family and friends, were dressed in beautiful traditional Indian attire. There was lots of singing, dancing and eating – staples of any celebration, and I was so honored the bride trusted me to cover such an evening. A couple of days later, these two were married. Two celebrations in three days? Of course!

Made for the Other: Angelina & Jesse

My co-worker bud, Jesse, is a fellow photographer, and like me, he’s not a huge fan of having his picture taken. When he got engaged a few months ago, however, I convinced him – please let’s do an engagement shoot – it’ll be fun! I hadn’t done one in awhile and needed and wanted the practice; and as fate would have it, they still needed a wedding photographer =)

Jesse and Angelina, for all their worry about having their pictures taken, were nothing but easygoing and fun! The product of mutual friends and cupid.com, they are a match that’s meant to be. It took me all but 10 minutes of taking their picture to see it. The two of them, along with their kids Skye and Annie, just fit and I can’t wait to be there in February when they make it official =)

Just the Girls: Nite’s Bridal Shower

Classy and fun – that’s how I would describe Nite’s bridal shower. I simply adored everything about this wonderful and unique event thrown especially for brides-to-be. Her bridal party did such an amazing job with every detail of this event – from the blush motif (to match her wedding day), to the restaurant choice, to the custom-perfume-creating station – it was just the perfect moment for Nite to spend time with some of her favorite gals.

I couldn’t get enough of the table’s set-up! Is it obvious, seeing as to how many pictures I took of the place settings?! It was just so gorgeous! And I think I have a new favorite bridal shower game – make-a-wedding-gown on the fly! Armored with scraps of material and trim, not to mention their own mini-forms, each group astounded the bride (and each other) with their creativity.

Congratulations, Nite! You’re going to make a beautiful bride!
